Wolwerivier | Sedgfield Garden Route
Wolwerivier is a sport climbing area on Swartvlei close to Sedgfield on the Garden Route. There are currently 20 sport lines, 3 of which are still projects & 27 trad routes.
The sport routes are on good sandstone, but there is a mix of sandstone, quartzite & granite. There is a fair amount of potential for new routes.
Access:
Access is open, but controled. Climbers must check out Swartvlei Equestrian Estate, click on the Rock Climbing tab & make arrangments via the number provided or the direct WhatsApp button. Arrangments need to be made before the climbing day. There is a cost that will be charged & a permit issued. in 2026 it was R100 per day. Please take access arrangments very seriously.
Swartvlei Equestian Estate has wonderful accomodation. If you are from out of town, this is the recomended stay.
