Morgan Bay | East London
Rock climbing at Morgan Bay is on vertical dolerite crags set above the sea. There are 637 naturally protected climbing routes, 7 sport lines & a few boulder problems. Morgan Bay is the largest established sea cliff climbing area in South Africa.
Morgan Bay has all year round rock climbing. Winter has low rain fall & is very mild. In summer Morgans is hot, but there are shaded crags & the sea breeze cools everything to acceptable levels. Morgan Bay gets more rain in summer, but the crags dry very quickly. Best possible conditions are: westerly berg wind with equinox low tide. When all these conditions are in a line…it’s time to get down to sea level stuff.
There is plenty for the famliy to do while you are climbing at Morgan bay. Stunning beaches, surfing, fishing, fantastic resuturants & good hotels make Morgan Bay a great place to combine climbing & family.
